Giving RIM a Priority
Records and information management(RIM) is key in the effective and smooth running of any organization. This implies that all departments within an organization especially finance, the IT department and human resources as these departments are involved in the day to day running of any organization. There is therefore, a great need for RIM processes to be given priority in order to improve the running of organizations.
It is essential for organizations to give RIM a priority as it plays a great role in boosting the effectiveness of an organization’s activities such as staff payments, interviews and recruitment activities of new employees and also the proper running of computer systems.
The stakes are very high in organizations with poor RIM processes which come with hefty fines. Poor RIM processes in hospitals for instance may result to incomplete patient files thus causing delays in accessing such files that may impact on decision making on the patient’s life.
