2ND ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS WORKSHOP: DIGITIZING RECORDS AND AUTOMATION OF PROCESSES & WORKFLOWS (14TH TO 18TH NOV 2016)

In the current age of information, Data is an asset essential in organizational operations. Therefore Digital asset management (DAM) which involves storing and retrieving rich media and managing digital rights and permissions which include photos, music, videos, animations, podcasts and other multimedia content.With DAM an archive is created and a system is put in place to manage and preserve these digital assets making it easier to manage them with ease of retrieval, location and easy future reference. In this system, a created database contains metadata with file numbers, names, file format, location and in some cases the use of the data.

Digital media management softwares when put in use will help organizations effectively manage and store data in cost effective manner. With DAM in place, a company will be able to improve customer services and even effectively manage their website content. Examples of Digital Asset Management softwares include webDAM and Libris.
